CINNAMON ALMOND COFFEE *HOLIDAY SPECIAL

It’s my favorite time of the year because when it comes to eating or drinking I feel a little more free to experiment and make yummy things with accompanied with little to no guilt. My favorite thing about christmas mornings is gathering with family, drinking egg nog or delicious aroma filled coffees and teas and curling up by the fire place. Or in Southern California’s case curling up in shorts and a loose tee because it’s never cold enough for a plush onesie (damn it)!

Pause the calorie counting for just a second here and really enjoy your morning with this silky chocolaty coffee and let yourself rock a whipped cream mustache for a tiny bit. And guess what? Adding baileys, Jameson, or scotch to this will make it extra special! Wink.

INGREDIENTS:
Your favorite fresh brewed coffee
Fat free whipped cream of your choice
shaved coconut or shaved almonds (or both if you’re feeling wild)
Unsweetened Hot cocoa mix
Cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Little sprinkle of chilli powder for spice
Nutmeg
1tsp agave nectar
Heavy whipping cream or fat free milk (I used heavy whipping cream to create the silky texture)

DIRECTIONS:
In your mug combine 3tbsp of hot cocoa mix, 1tsp agave, vanilla extract, chili powder, 1 tsp cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg to the heavy whipping cream. Stir it and heat it up in your microwave. When it’s done pour your coffee on top and leave some space for whip. Get creative with your whip and make it look good! Sprinkle hot cocoa mix, coconut shreds, and shaved almonds on top. Sprinkle with more cinnamon.
